The family tree In tracing the ancestry, as a first step, it was considered that Sliman, forefather number 6 and Sliman forfather number 7 are one and the same person. Also, taking into consideration some naming similarities between branches 5 and 3 it was assumed that Nasser (3) is the son of Mansour (5). Then the remaining seven forefathers were grouped under three “founders: these are Issa, Youssef and Salem born between 1792 and 1808. The seven “forefathers” were grouped arbitrarily based upon the first names of their descendants. The names of the three “ancestors” where chosen based upon the commonness of those first names in the 19th century in the Soudah clan members. If we accept the above, the trunk of the family tree would look as follows:
